Also I carry antihistamines in my first aid kit just in case I’m unlucky enough to interact with ongaonga. Have done so since doing the Rangitikei adventure race (it’s on their compulsory gear list).
It’s nasty af eh? Have been around a couple times when people have experienced it for the first time. More entertaining than being the person for sure! In the Aorangi’s it’s rampant aswell
